In light of the current COVID-19 situation, the Board has made the decision to postpone this year’s Tournament to August 2021.

Providing a safe and enjoyable Tournament experience for our golfers and supporters is mission critical for us.

To: Players, Sponsors, Donors, Vendors, and Supporters of St. Martin’s Programs

RE: 2020 28th Annual James G. Murphy Golf Tournament Supporting St. Martin’s Programs

Dear Friends,

On behalf of the St. Martin de Porres Programs Board of Directors, I am providing you an update on this year’s Golf Tournament.  In light of the current COVID-19 situation, the Board has made the decision to postpone this year’s Tournament to August 2021. While disappointing, this will allow our medical science community time to develop a vaccine which will hopefully allow us to gather again next year. Providing a safe and enjoyable Tournament experience for our golfers and supporters is mission critical for us.

As you know, our main function is to raise necessary operating funds for the St. Martin de Porres shelters. Even though we are postponing this year’s event, we are still focused on raising at least $125,000 on behalf of the shelters. To that end, we will be following up and reaching out to you in the near term to ask for your financial support. We ask that you consider donating your cost to play, as well as matching your auction purchases and Raise the Paddle donation from last year’s event.  Note that as always, your tax-deductible donation is a straight pass through to the shelters. Since we don’t have any Tournament-related overhead this year, your support will have an even greater impact.  Your generosity has allowed us to donate over $3,000,000 to St. Martin’s Programs, and you are clearly making a difference in our clients’ lives. St. Martin’s continues to assist more than 100 men and women into permanent housing each year.

I invite you to read a brief overview of actions taken by our shelters in response to the COVID-19 pandemic (see COVID-19 Update page).
