As you know, I am the Education Manger for the Youth Tutoring Program (YTP), where we serve over 450 students living in Seattle Housing community every year. Since I started this position in March, I have been very impressed with our curriculum, program structure, and how we get involved with both families and schools. It is truly an impressive program, and I am proud to be a part of it.

This October, YTP is holding its Read-a-thon Fund Drive. During this drive, tutoring centers focus skills work around reading aloud, comprehension, and vocabulary acquisition. While tutors fundraise, students compete in fun reading events and competitions. This fall, nearly 250 volunteers will tutor at our six centers, and they make a significant impact everyday with our students. With Read-a-thon, we have the opportunity to make a financial impact on the programming as well. Please support me in my efforts to help YTP grow by making a contribution to Read-a-thon!
